Immediate and Lasting Relief from Migraines
From pain medication to ice packs, from caffeine to a new diet, you’ve probably tried it all. Some of these may have provided short-term relief from migraines, but let’s face it – the headaches always come back.
Unlike medications, which treat the problem short-term on a surface level, chiropractic adjustments will address the cause of your migraine and provide lasting results that will improve your quality of life. The primary outcomes of chiropractic care for migraines are a reduction in frequency, intensity, duration, and often can resolve the symptoms entirely.
Dr. Barney’s chiropractic treatment of migraines starts with a thorough evaluation that examines your spine for misalignment issues, and aims to rule out other possible causes. If misalignment issues are present, Dr. Barney uses various techniques to address postural issues as well as muscle tension of the neck and shoulders. Both are commonly associated with migraines and can slow the healing process if left unaddressed.
If misalignment issues are present, spinal manipulation or chiropractic adjustments could be made to improve spinal function and alleviate the stress on your system causing the headaches.
If you’re one of the 39 million people in the U.S. who suffer from migraines and you’re looking for a new solution, Dr. Barney can help you.

When you have an appointment with Dr. Barney, not only will he treat your spinal complaints, he will treat the surrounding musculature as well.
Adjusting the muscles surrounding the joints takes the tension away from the joints, easing the pain, helping you achieve results as quickly as possible, and giving you longer-lasting relief. This comprehensive approach sets him apart from other chiropractors who focus only on spinal adjustments, rather than treating the entire issue.
Outside of work, Dr. Barney loves to stay active by running and hiking. You might find him out with his wife, Christine, enjoying everything St. Louis has to offer and cheering on the Cardinals.
Yes, chiropractic care is included in most major health insurance plans. We will happily look into the benefits of your medical insurance plan.
That depends on two things: your condition when you started and your overall health goals. Relief from current pains may take only a few weeks of care, after which it is up to you whether you want to continue your care.
For many, chiropractic is part of their balanced healthcare just like dentist appointments. They have regular spinal check-ups to maintain the spinal health they achieved after their initial care.
Chiropractic care is usually pain-free unless the patient was previously in acute pain before the visit. In that case, we perform very light and conservative care to help the patient experience decreased pain as soon as possible. Some patients are slightly uncomfortable due to being in new and unfamiliar positions, but that rarely causes an increase in pain or symptoms.
In some cases, there is light pressure on your spinal joints and/or you may hear a popping sound, but there is rarely pain during an adjustment.
No, chiropractic care can benefit organs, tissues, systems, and cells in your body by optimizing your body’s ability to heal itself. Although it’s usually associated with back pain, chiropractic has been shown to be effective in relieving headache, neck pain, arthritis, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other conditions.
